For Centuries, “the Supercargo was an important person on a ship trading to far away ports. He loaded the stock, acted as correspondent in foreign lands, exchanged money for the currency of the country. Besides this mercantile qualification, he was capable of dealing with persons of rank and dignity. The supercargoes were men of ability and incorruptible honesty, and needed diplomatic ability to deal with extraordinary situations in commerce.“

Supercargo k.k is based in Osaka, in the heart of the thriving Kansai region in Japan, strategically located a few hours by train West of Tokyo and East of Fukuoka, but is also close by plane from Korea as well as the major Chinese cities Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. Andy Zhang is a Chinese citizen who has been living in Japan for close to 20 years, where he graduated with a Master in Business Strategy at Kwansai Gakuin University. He also worked 8 years in the purchasing and internal sales department of a major Japanese specialty food distributor.

Supercargo LLC is based in New York, an ever dynamic financial and economic center on the East Coast of the USA, near ports of entry receiving ships from Europe. With our trading desk located in Antwerp at the heart of Europe, there is always someone in our team to be in touch with across time zones. Daniel Arnould is a Belgian citizen. He lived in Japan and Korea for twenty years, where he has owned and managed specialty food businesses.
